Rooted in the city’s deep brass band and traditional jazz lineage, BassX reclaims the sousaphone’s historic role as a foundational bass voice while presenting a progressive sound. The project brings together veteran New Orleans musicians to honor tradition, elevate collective musicianship, and engage audiences through groove, improvisation, and tradition.
